JA Worldwide is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

Katy ISD is one of a few districts in the country that provides the Junior

Acheivement (JA) program for all grade levels K-12. JA teaches goal

setting, accountability, personal finance, and economic concepts at age

appropriate levels. All materials and lesson plans are provided and training

is available.

At the elementary level, JA focuses on Money & Me, Money & Families,

Wants vs Needs, and how communities and the nation are interconnected.

The program culminates with "Biz Town" for our 5th graders who operate

their own businesses in a "city" environment.

JA requires a 45 minute, once a week commitment for 5 weeks. This is a

great volunteer opportunity for working parents as most businesses gladly

support JA. Many parents also enjoy team teaching JA.

Junior Acheivement is one of our most popular programs so sign up early.
